Very good day to be on the water. Plenty of boats out but not much fish to bring home (4 flathead). Tried 6 locations from Mordy pier to Ricketts Point, in shallow and out deeper. Hard work at the moment to land any pinky keepers, all fish undersize. Matt hooked something huge at Ricketts which he couldn't turn and got busted off using 30lb braid. Had a fun day anyway. |

Nice morning for fishing. Tried Ricketts at 4a and landed 3 big flathead at 6am-7am. The big rays put on a show, but only tangled our lines. Moved over 8am out from Mordialloc pier for good action, but only small flathead and pinkies. Came in close near the mussel farm at 9am. Plenty of boats only a few whiting caught by others. Gave Ricketts another go at 10.30am, but nothing. No other boats at Ricketts which was surprising. Calamari bait hit most by fish. Ahh well, better luck next time. |
